On November 2nd, SPIKE unveiled the prototype electric motorcycle they developed as an assignment for Kibo Motorcycles. Kibo is a Dutch-Kenyan motorcycle brand that locally produces high quality combustion engine motorcycles specifically designed for the African market. In March 2018, Kibo reached out to SPIKE with the question to develop an electric motorcycle based on the existing frame of their first K150 series. The intended purpose of this electric prototype was to serve mainly as a promotional tool and learning object.

SPIKE took care of the entire vehicle design and powertrain integration, including custom battery development. The entire prototype has been realized in about 6 months. Currently, SPIKE and Kibo are discussing the next development steps towards a model that is ready for production.
